Question by ▐►UИВΞŁIΞVΛВŁΈ™◄▌: Best Buy Employees ~ Job Interview Question!?
I have an upcoming job interview at Best Buy and I want (and even more so, NEED) to make a GREAT first impression but it has been over three years since I’ve been on a job interview (had the same job throughout that time) and over TEN years since I’ve worked for this company.
My question is: are facial piercings ACCEPTABLE as an employee of Best Buy? I have a bar in my left eye-brow, two 8-gauge rings (w/ball) in my left ear, a tongue and standard labrea piercings.
I KNOW this may SEEM like a dumb question but I’ve noticed a lot of changes occurring, especially as of lately when it comes to this particular category. Things such as piercings are becoming more and more acceptable by society because of their personal-belief nature.
The fact of quite possibly being accepted for this job COMPLETELY outweighs ANY issues I’d have with removing any/all of my piercings. I could honestly care less if it meant an end to my nine-month unemployment binge.
Any information Best Buy employees/recently departed employees can offer would be of GREAT appreciation. I’m MORE than prepared to remove them all if that is what they demand of their staff.
Thanks,
UnB

Most employers do not like it, I assume Best Buy wouldn’t be accepting of it. It is usually best to remove all piercing, before an interview, do whatever you have to do to get the job first, then if you have personal questions about employee’s appearance ask them to a supervisor or manager.
Usually employers do not like Radical piercings, Radical hairstyles, or Tattoos, so it is usually best to remove piercings, keep your hair comb out of your face, and to keep any tattoos hidden.
Hopefully this is helpful, Good Luck

I don’t want to go with the usual “I’m too much of a perfectionist” or “I take on too much responsibility” or “I work too hard”. I feel these are cliche responses that they will see right through. I also don’t want to say something bad about myself that makes them not want to give me the job.
I have an interview for a possible promotion and I know they always ask this question, no matter how pointless it seems to me.
Question by Toby: Question[s] for Pharmacy Techs/Pharmacists?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for pharmacy techs and pharmacists to walk me through a normal day for them. How much work is designated to the techs and can the computer work be designated to them?
Details on how much computer work and breaks would be really helpful.
If you work in a hospital, how much computer work is there? Do you work alone or do you have any helpers similar to retail pharmacists?
The reason I mention computer work is because I was on my way to becoming an accountant, but now I have minor tendinitis in my hands. I’m very good with computers and can type really fast. I can still work with computers. I’m just not able to type+click for 30+ minutes straight without taking breaks between.

Some pharmacies will allow you to just be a filler – that is, all you do is fill the bottles and label them – most pharmaciees, however, work on a rotation so everyone does everything (the pharmacist actually does the final QA) – you will most likely have to type continually for at least 1 hour, especially in the evenings and sundays when most people come in after visiting the ER. That is the case for retail pharmacy.

Everytime I go in there, the girls are dressed “preppy”. They just wear the type of clothing they sell. To me, that would be the style.

I was a victim of sexual harassment and settled with the company. I cannot speak about the lawsuit or the events leading to it. So how do I answer interview questions that ask about my previous employment and why I left?
