Question by neollakent: Should I call to inquire about a job application when I was told to wait by the office I submitted my resume t
I submitted a resume to an office which was recommended to me by a colleague who was a former assistant in that office. I was not sure if they were hiring but I still gave it a shot anyway. When I called to follow-up, they said that they will call me. It’s been 4 days and I haven’t received a call yet. Should I call them again or should I wait and for how long. I did not apply for any other jobs because I wanted this and I don’t want to get confused later on especially if I had to choose among several call-backs as I don’t want to go hopping from one job to another . This happened to me before, I accepted a job and then a week after another office called me and gave me a better offer.

Question by Eleana: First Interview Question?
I just applied for my first job, a job as a student helper at the library, and the librarian seemed friendly and told me I had a good chance since I go to the library so often. If they do choose to interview me, I am worried that they will ask me “what is your biggest weakness?” I hate that question because I have no good answers. My biggest weakness is my short temper, and how I tend to blow up at idiotic/ rude people. Considering that the job is for the library, and I will probably have do deal with inconsiderate people, this is probably the worst possible answer. What should I say? really want this job, so I want to be prepared. Thank you in advance. =)
Yeah, I’ve heard of the spin weakness into strength thing, but I read interviewers are getting tired of those answers because they are to safe. They want honest weakness answers. As for the weakness that has nothing to do with the job, I have no idea what weakness I could say.

If someone asks you what your biggest weakness is, you should tell them something that can be considered a positive. Like I would say something like, “My biggest weakness is that I take my work home with me.” That really is true, and I kind of think it shows that I am dedicated to my work. Just try to think of something like that! Good luck!

Question by adra: How long are you allowed for decision making after being offered a job? What is standard?
I am going in for a second interview and am not sure how long I should ask for. I am debating between several jobs.

it depends on what level your career is at. I’ve seen candidates of very technical or high level skills get a month to consider. If you’re not highly technical (engineer or the like or an executive), you could probably take 3 days to a week to make a decision.

Question by yoyogirl: What type of interview questions do you think I’ll be asked?
I applied to be a World Vision Charity Representative and I was wondering what questions they would ask besides the obvious ones like what are your strengths/weaknesses, why should we hire you, what you know about the organization, descreibe yourself in 3 words, etc. etc.
This is my first interview so I’m pretty nervous!!

I’m not sure what other questions they’ll ask you, but make sure you do your research and have a set of questions to ask them! Remember this isn’t just about them getting to know you, but your also interviewing them!

Answer by Josh L
all the spartans of sparta where put to work as soldiers, which created a strong military, while the slave helots and non citizen perioikoi where at work keeping the city run properly. the main weakness of sparta was that none of the spartans where trained in anything besides militarism, and also that the helots outnumbered the spartans by 80%(not good, since the helots despised their captors the spartans)
strength: disciplined, gigantic military
weakness: no skills besides militarism, largely outnumbered by slaves
