Question by SIMONE: Okay…. Please help!!?
Well um I got selected for an interview. It’s not a job interview lol. It’s an interview in which if I qualify, I’ll be given scholarship. Well if the people in the interview ask me my hobby, I really don’t know what it is.. I’m mostly reading, sleeping, watching tv and on the computer all the time. I’m not good at drawing. I don’t play any sport. I’m not good at singing or dancing, I don’t play any instrument , I’m not interested in photography. So what do I do when they ask me what my hobby is? Woah… Wait a minute… I don’t even read novels or anything except my text books. What do I answer?
somebody please answer!!! don’t just read the question and go away.

Do you enjoy spending time with your family? Do you have pets? Do you like walking, swimming, camping, watching movies?
Music, baking, do you support local bands, go to places of interest (museums art galleries etc) do you keep up to date with news? Are you interested in hair and beauty, fashion, do you go to any clubs?
What types of books do you usually read? What do you do on the computer?
When they ask you this question in interviews, they are generally trying to get a broader picture of who you are and they can get an idea of this by asking what you do with your spare time, most people exaggerate slightly but be warned, don’t say you are an expert in martial arts as it would just be typical that the person interviewing you happened to be a black belt!
Good Luck with the interview

Hi
I just had my Geek Squad interview recently and found out today that i got the job. The interviewer took my resume which i gave him and he started to ask me questions about my past workplaces. When he was done asking me introductory questions he started asking me computer related questions. For example he asked me if i knew what IRQ’s were, if i knew how to connect an internet modem, set-up a TV, and know how to work with computers and wireless networking. After those questions were done he gave me questions like “What would you say if a customer came to you and asked you….. ” etc.
Thats pretty much the interview

Question by Alexander R: Need help figuring out what I’m doing wrong… help?
I’ve been searching for a job for the past 8 months now, hoping to make some extra cash so I can actually have some fun with my life. (parents are paying all of my basic expenses through college, and I have a scholarship, so I’m fine with that.)
My issue is that I’ve turned in well over 70 applications, ten or fifteen being ones I’ve recently redone, yet I’m getting maybe one interview a month, and I never get the job after the interview. I’m always 5 minutes early, I answer all of the questions promptly, I try to radiate as much confidence as possible, and everything else that every list of “things to do” says to do right.
Any ideas to help me step up my game?
I’m a college Sophomore (19) with 4 years of professional I.T. experience, and 13 years of Boy Scouts, including significant leadership and community service experience.

I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong! The problem is that companies never hire the right people anymore. I have the same problem trying to find a job. I actually work hard and do my job rather than stand around gossiping with others or worrying about what to eat for lunch. I’m not sure what people are looking for but it’s obviously not someone who wants to actually work and do a good job. It really shouldn’t have to be a game but sadly, finding a job is. Good luck with your job search and eventually someone will see that you are the right one to hire!
