Hello I had my citizenship interview in Orlando, Florida on Aug 9th 2007. The interviewing officer was very nice & friendly. He was very informal yet professional. Well my interview went smoothly. I passed my English & history with flying colors.

After the interview I was told that since I had made many trips outside the US, the officer wanted to make sure I had not stayed out of the country more than whats allowed. He made copies of each and every page of my passport and told me: You have passed your interview but I just want to make sure everything is ok. He said ” I do not think there should be a problem but I just have to check”. He told me, most likely everything will be fine and that I should be hearing from USCIS with-in 3 or 4 weeks. On my interview sheet it said ” a decision cannot be made at this time”. Ok now my question: It is now 4 months since my interview. I have not heard from USCIS at all. What is going on ? how long do you think I will have to wait? Thank You !!

Best answer:

Answer by helplulu
since USCIS increased Citizenship fee, many people applied and the office is backed up from work. since you traveled many times but the officer said “it shouldn’t be a prob” then, i guess you should just wait. i heard some people waited a year.

Question by Max: PLEASE HELP ME with an english essay! 10 points best answer?
Book of horror

The fun just began as I, Max Wilson got invited to a birthday party which supposed to be in the old haunted church up at Blantyre. However, that was not to be.

The weather wasn’t the best, that night; it was actually really cold, the kind of cold that sends shivers to the core, and depressing. We almost gave up and thought of possibly staying at home, but we where desperate and wanted the scary experience that we only can get it in the horrific place like, in Blantyre.

It was only five of us, we’ve packed our stuff, which will keep us alive during that night. While I was packing I had an idea of bringing a Ouija board, just for fun. I never really used it before so I’ve decided to use it now. I haven’t told my friends yet; I wanted to make it as a surprise. For a short time.

The time has come. For the first time I saw that church through the window of my car. By the look of it, It looked like a really old building with the growing branches sticking out of the windows. I looked pail, I wasn’t feeling good but I didn’t want to disappoint my friends.

When I’ve arrived I suddenly saw something, it wasn’t anything, it was more like a tall black figure that reminded of my dead mother. I’ve suddenly felt depressed and suicidal after seeing that figure; it brought me fear, weakness and tears slowly dropping from my eyes to my cheekbones.

Then it was gone.

My friends have just arrived with joyful faces and they are ready to start the adventure. I still though it was a bad idea but yet again, I didn’t want to disappoint my friends. As soon we walked towards the gates on the old curve that looked it had been left there without looking after it and at the sides where blown out candles which brought me more fear.

The gate was closed. There was nothing to grab on to climb over it. The only way we went is through the graveyard. My friend, Sean was shivering of fear, I could see his butterflies on his hand, which gave me a clue that I wasn’t the one with the fear issue.

We have found a spot where we can set up our tent. It was beside cremate where it had an only dry area for our camping site. While we set up the tent I showed my Ouija board to my friends, they found it really interesting as they’ve read the stories about it online.
The disaster has started, when my torch stopped working

Best answer:

Answer by Lonestar_d
Most employer send out the job offer letter within 2 week of the interview. Most of the time, you are asked for your email, because they prefer to send it via email. Unless you state to them that you do not have an email account. Be ready to reply soon, because they will expect an answer within a few days after receipt of the email/job offer. Other companies will mail the letter with US mail, but more and more companies are resorting to the email.

Question by curiousgurl: VERY IMPORTANT! Is it proper to contact an a scholarship interview comittee after the scholarship interview?
They asked me a question that I feel i forgot to say something REALLY important on! Would it be considered rude if I e-mailed a person from the comittee (I have frequently talked to her through e-mail) and told her that I feel I missed that really important point, and then proceed to let her know what it is? Would I seem like i’m pushing them? I’m scared that it will affect their decision because everything else went great!!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best answer:

Answer by latj
Even though you have had personal contact with this person it wouldn’t be fair to the other contestants and she just may feel this way if you do send and an EM. Let things lay where they are as you said the rest of the interview went well. Trust me…everyone missed something and no one did excellent. Everyone was nervous and forgot something. It may seem pushy and a bit bold and even “intimidating” to her if you send an EM afterwords in regards to the question. Be proud of what you did and let the chips fall where they may. Think how you would feel if you were one of the other contestants and they found out you got “preferential” treatment by them allowing some additional context to your question after the interview was closed….that actually could cause you to lose the scholarship altogether. It’s best left alone. I’m sure you did well. Good luck.
Peace, Love & Happiness

Best answer:

Answer by Jen M
You want to look at you from the perspective of your employeer and try to see what they might see as a strength or weakenss. When discussing weaknesses however, I would always figure out some way to spin it in the right light. For instance, I lose track of time easily and always go over with my clients. That is my weakness, I would say in the next breath however, I do keep a small clock that I can glance at to keep me from losing track of time.

THis way they know that you know it is a weakness but, are doing something about it.

Question by Tammy: What would you do if you were in my place? I know its long but please read and answer.?
So my daughter is 15 but is in 8th grade, going into 9th when summer starts next week. She is at an upper class private school but we can only afford it because of a scholarship the school gave to us. My husband teaches at a community college but the college is facing financial trouble and might drop his department. Anyways, the scholarship is supposed to be private but i think just about everyone in the whole school knows about it. I was at a school play with my daughter on thursday night and when it was over, this woman walked over to me and asked if i was Tamera. I told her yes. She introduced herself as Jennifer Fitch and then went on to tell me that she had asked the school if they knew anyone who was qualified to be a secretary in a law office. Apparently the school told her i needed a job and was qualified as a secretary because i used to handle sorting the school lunch orders and taking them to the vendors. The school didn’t tell her about the job though. She said she was a lawyer and her personal secretary was moving away and she was looking for a new one. She asked me if i was interested and my husband told her i was. She basically told me when i had to come in for a formal interview if i wanted the job. It was at 10 the next morning. Then her husband walked over carrying their daughter, Maddy, who is in my daughters class and got one of the lead rolls my daughter auditioned for in the play, piggy back. My daughter, Melody said hi to her and she just rolled her eyes and looked at her iphone to answer a text. I went in the next morning at 9:45 and Jennifer didnt even show up until 10:30. When she got there, she didnt appologize or anything but she said Maddy had gotten no sleep the past few weeks getting ready for the play and she had to take her to the doctor. We up to her office and she told me what the job involved. She told me all i would do was answer the phone, set up appointments, and work with one of her paralegals with sorting paperwork. She told me she was one of 3 partners in the firm and there were 6 other attorneys, 9 paralegals, and 3 secretaries in the firm. Then she did the usual interview things. I told her that i had 3 daughters and one son. I told her that my son and one of my daughters has autism and that the other 2 daughters attend the same school as her daughter. That was all i thought she needed to know but she started asking me about what my kids like to do and then she asked where i live. I told her then asked her why she needed to know and she told me if i got the job, i would have access to highly confidential and she needed to know she could trust me so i asked her about her family. It was a mistake because she went on for about 15 minutes telling me about Maddy and how wounderful of a girl she is. Now to me this is a lie because i know her daughter is a partier, is popular, snobby, and very rude to Melody. Then she told me all about her husbands job as the CFO of the company he works for. Then she told me they live in Tuscan Hills, which ive been to before and i dont think any of the houses there are worth less that several million. She told me she thought i was the one for the job and i could have it if i improved my image a bit. I asked her what she meant and she said i needed an appropriate haircut, i need to dye my hair to hide the gray spots, and she said i needed to improve my wardrobe just a little. I said I had to talk it over with my husband so she said she would have someone from her office call me in the next several days to ask if i wanted the job. Then a client showed up so she showed me out and went back to her office.

My husband really wants me to take the job because he is sure he is about to get laid off but i think Jennifer is a bit stuck up and rude and im afraid it will make it even harder on my daughter if i work for one of her classmates parents. My daughter is socially akward and is bigger than most people in her class (boys and girls) and is the oldest in her class so she is made fun of as it is. It also annoyed me that she actually told me to get better clothes, a better haircut, and that i have gray spots (which i never noticed before). What would you do if you were in my place? Thanks in advance

Best answer:

Answer by Indalecio Celesta
I’d take the job. This is completely NOT an issue to go starving over.

Your daughters time in school is limited- she’ll graduate someday.
Your career is indefinite.

Question by Ender: What should I do if I think I might have aspergers?
To start, I’m a 15 year old boy. And no, I’m not asking if I should get myself diagnosed or not. I’ve read a bundle of articles about it, and I match almost every characteristic. Even if I DON’T have it, well, I still share the characteristics, and I need help. Well, first of all, I notice I have awkward movements and postures. I can’t really help it. And when it comes to social situations, its like my body just shuts down when I begin talking to a stranger. I’ve already planned what I’ve had to say and how I want to say it, but still, when the time comes, it just doesn’t come out right. I start to shake, studder, speak too fast, too slow, and just feel totally uncomfortable. How can I overcome this?

And it’s not just with strangers. It even happens with my close friends sometimes! They’ll ask me a question, and they’ll will truly be interested in my response, but sometimes, I just can’t help it and just give a half-assed response that makes no sense and just say “I don’t know” to their follow up questions. And I really want to tell them the true answer, but it just doesn’t come out right. And when someone tells ME something? All I do is just pay attention to my body language and what my responses are rather than even listen to what they’re saying. I’m too nervous to even notice what they’re saying! And I’ll just end up saying “cool, nice, cool, yeah” very unnaturally

So what I’m asking you is if there is anything I can do. Is there any medications that will, like, calm my nerves when talking to someone? Any practices I should try? Because when I’m in school, I’ll just end up sitting in my seat while everyone else is chatting. I’ll really want to say something but can’t. Or someone will talk to me and I’ll get so nervous I’ll forget everything I originally wanted to say. I’m worried because in the near future, what if I want to get a job? I’ll be so nervous at the interview! And helping people at a cash register or something? How will I ever do that? And even beyond, if I can’t even talk to my friends, how could I possibly talk to a girl to get a girlfriend?

PS: I can communicate via text perfect fine. If I was asking this question to all of you in real life it wouldn’t make sense.
Oh yeah, and 2 more things that might or might not be relevant: Say I want to go jogging. I’ll start, but I’ll just feel so awkward running on the sidewalk in public I just can’t do it. And if I’m on the computer, if someone looks over my shoulder while I’m typing something or watching a video I’ll just instantly freeze and get nervous.

Question by Darin D: Was Obama not speaking the truth?
Put your beliefs about the man aside. I want to know honestly, if there is anything in these statemnts that is not true, from a Hillary supporter.

Obama began by recalling a moment in Tuesday night’s debate when he and his rivals were asked to name their biggest weakness. Obama answered first, saying he has a messy desk and needs help managing paperwork — something his opponents have since used to suggest he’s not up to managing the country. John Edwards said his biggest weakness is that he has a powerful response to seeing pain in others, and Clinton said she gets impatient to bring change to America.

“Because I’m an ordinary person, I thought that they meant, ‘What’s your biggest weakness?’” Obama said to laughter from a packed house at Rancho High School. “If I had gone last I would have known what the game was. And then I could have said, `Well, ya know, I like to help old ladies across the street. Sometimes they don’t want to be helped. It’s terrible.’”

“Folks, they don’t tell you what they mean!” he said. Obama chuckled at his own joke before riffing on another Clinton answer in the debate, when she said that she is happy that the bankruptcy bill she voted for in 2001 never became law.

“She says, ‘I voted for it but I was glad to see that it didn’t pass.’ What does that mean?” he asked, again drawing laughter from the crowd and himself. “No seriously, what does that mean? If you didn’t want to see it passed, then you can vote against it! People don’t say what they mean.

“You know what I’m saying is true,” he said, then addressed his routine directly at audience members who don’t know who they will vote for yet. “Undecideds, remember now, remember what I’m saying.”

He continued by responding to a new Clinton radio ad that accused him of having financial ties to supporters of the proposed Yucca Mountain nuclear waste site that most Nevadans are loath to come to their state.

“I have said over and over again I’m against Yucca,” Obama said. “I’m against Yucca Mountain. I think the science is not there. I’ve never, I’ve never been for Yucca. Never been for it. Never said I was for it.

“Suddenly you’ve got the Clinton camp out there saying, `He’s for Yucca.’ What part of I’m not for Yucca do you not understand?” he said, then laughed along with his audience.

As the laughter subsided, Obama drove home the broader point he’s been trying to make against Clinton the entire campaign.

“Those kinds of tricks, that kind of approach to politics is what has to stop because what happens is then nobody believes anything,” Obama said. “The voters don’t believe what politicians say. They get cynical. Folks in Congress, they’ll tell you they’re looking out for you — they’re looking out for somebody else. We have to change that politics and that’s why I’m running for president.”
If it’s not true, what’s not true about it?
“While he was giving that speech there was an ad running saying that the Clintons tried to stop people from voting in Nevada. That is a lie. He’s no better than what he is condemning.”

He didn’t run that ad. Research before you speak.
And the Clintons did try to stop people from voting obviously.
The “5 times the vote argument” That situation happening is slim to none, and it’s in effect in all caucus states, because some places have different populations. Do you know what would have to happen for their votes to actually be 5 times more important? I doubt it, you’re too busy listening to Bill.
Hillary endorsed the decision to fight it in court only two days after the culinary union endorsed obama. She was for the caucus locations last year, why is she against them now?

Answer by Ring0Rosie
I sure hope you don’t plan on being a comedian…

It seems like you are trying to make this woman seem stupid and these jokes come off really sexist. Women can work and do a good job- they are not all airheads like the one in your jokes. Presenting women like this is really sexist.

Question by Krissy P: problems with my boyfriends mother, how to handle?
i had planned a trip to go have an interview that was 800 miles away from home. my best friend, his girlfriend, and my boyfriend all needed jobs and/or a better job, so they decided to join me. we had planned this weekend roadtrip seriously for over a month, but had started planning way before that.
my boyfriend is still in high school (graduating this year) and a month away from turning eighteen. so we were concious to take his mothers concerns into or planning. she had previously agreed (a week before the trip) to let him skip school on friday, so we could use that day to drive down.
on thursday, about eight oclock my friend calls me saying he got a facebook message from my boyfriend saying that his mother didnt know ANYTHING about this trip, and he wasnt going anymore. we gathered, talked it out, and he went home and his mother was fine with the decision we made, to just see how everything goes, and then she could decide if she would allow him to take the job or not.
friday morning she calls my mother (who was joining us on this weekend trip) at 6 freaking out asking every question under the sun about where were going and why, then his mother agreed to let him go. we left an hour later, and we were 13 miles from the border (2 hours into the trip) his mother calls my cell phone (we were eating and i didnt hear my phone ring) and left a voicemail message saying she wasnt aware he was skipping school (which she was cuz she texted him like five minutes into the trip saying have a good time) and that she would call the police if we crossed the border. she asked us to just leave him on the side of the road and she was already on her way to come get him. so we lost 50 miles and 2 hours driving to meet her and waiting.
im SO MAD!! she KNEW about this trip beforhand, way before! and then she has the nerve to STOP THE TRIP cuz she is having a fit, then telling me she is uncomfortable with my mothers parenting abilities and she would call the cops if we continued (on top of lying to my mother on what she had told my bf).
im afraid she is going to punish him in some way that will have repercussions that will affect me. what should i do?
this isnt the first time she has done something like this, just not this major before.
all the time she will plan WHOLE VACATIONS and not tell him till the morning of.. she even forgot to tell him that he was getting his tonsils out till the morning of.

Best answer:

Answer by Larry E
She sounds like she has mental problems. There’s nothing that you can do. He is a minor and she holds all the cards. Just try to stay clear of her.
