Question by Tammy: What would you do if you were in my place? Please read and answer. I know its long but im in a tough position.?
So my daughter is 15 but is in 8th grade, going into 9th when summer starts next week. She is at an upper class private school but we can only afford it because of a scholarship the school gave to us. My husband teaches at a community college but the college is facing financial trouble and might drop his department. Anyways, the scholarship is supposed to be private but i think just about everyone in the whole school knows about it. I was at a school play with my daughter on thursday night and when it was over, this woman walked over to me and asked if i was Tamera. I told her yes. She introduced herself as Jennifer Fitch and then went on to tell me that she had asked the school if they knew anyone who was qualified to be a secretary in a law office. Apparently the school told her i needed a job and was qualified as a secretary because i used to handle sorting the school lunch orders and taking them to the vendors. The school didn’t tell her about the job though. She said she was a lawyer and her personal secretary was moving away and she was looking for a new one. She asked me if i was interested and my husband told her i was. She basically told me when i had to come in for a formal interview if i wanted the job. It was at 10 the next morning. Then her husband walked over carrying their daughter, Maddy, who is in my daughters class and got one of the lead rolls my daughter auditioned for in the play, piggy back. My daughter, Melody said hi to her and she just rolled her eyes and looked at her iphone to answer a text. I went in the next morning at 9:45 and Jennifer didnt even show up until 10:30. When she got there, she didnt appologize or anything but she said Maddy had gotten no sleep the past few weeks getting ready for the play and she had to take her to the doctor. We up to her office and she told me what the job involved. She told me all i would do was answer the phone, set up appointments, and work with one of her paralegals with sorting paperwork. She told me she was one of 3 partners in the firm and there were 6 other attorneys, 9 paralegals, and 3 secretaries in the firm. Then she did the usual interview things. I told her that i had 3 daughters and one son. I told her that my son and one of my daughters has autism and that the other 2 daughters attend the same school as her daughter. That was all i thought she needed to know but she started asking me about what my kids like to do and then she asked where i live. I told her then asked her why she needed to know and she told me if i got the job, i would have access to highly confidential and she needed to know she could trust me so i asked her about her family. It was a mistake because she went on for about 15 minutes telling me about Maddy and how wounderful of a girl she is. Now to me this is a lie because i know her daughter is a partier, is popular, snobby, and very rude to Melody. Then she told me all about her husbands job as the CFO of the company he works for. Then she told me they live in Tuscan Hills, which ive been to before and i dont think any of the houses there are worth less that several million. She told me she thought i was the one for the job and i could have it if i improved my image a bit. I asked her what she meant and she said i needed an appropriate haircut, i need to dye my hair to hide the gray spots, and she said i needed to improve my wardrobe just a little. I said I had to talk it over with my husband so she said she would have someone from her office call me in the next several days to ask if i wanted the job. Then a client showed up so she showed me out and went back to her office.
My husband really wants me to take the job because he is sure he is about to get laid off but i think Jennifer is a bit stuck up and rude and im afraid it will make it even harder on my daughter if i work for one of her classmates parents. My daughter is socially akward and is bigger than most people in her class (boys and girls) and is the oldest in her class so she is made fun of as it is. It also annoyed me that she actually told me to get better clothes, a better haircut, and that i have gray spots (which i never noticed before). What would you do if you were in my place? If you have already answered this please ignore it, i am updating it and trying to get as many opinions as possible
I am a high school junior and i am thinking of applying for NROTC (Marine Option) scholarship.
I have a 3.6 GPA and take AP classes (History and English) as well as Honors Math. I am an eagle scout. I dont have any varsity sports but i do insanity and am in good physical shape and strong. Not to brag but i’m really good with logic, and thinking and stuff like that, so i know i’ll do really well in an interview, and pretty good on SAT/ACT. I got an 88 on my AFQT and i took it without warning (i did not study at all).
Do you think i would get the scholarship? and what could i do to make it more likely that i do?

It’s really hard to say. I had all that stuff last year, had a great interview and everything. They emailed me about a month later saying try again next year. It’s so hard to get a spot in any ROTC right now. You could join with no scholarship, but that takes a lot of money. It might be a little late for the application for this year, but it won’t be a problem for you. Since you are a junior, you can start filling everything out now. The quicker you apply, the better chance you have. There are only so many scholarship spots. And, if you don’t get a scholarship, there are a lot of other options. I have about a year of college completed and am going to join the AF reserves this summer. They will pay for the whole thing. Lots of options! Good luck to you!

At one time, astrology was a meaningful and definitive science – but no longer! Sorry to rain on your parade, but the truth of the matter is that the zodiacal signs have moved from their original positions all those thousands of years ago, when astrology first came into being – so today’s astrological charts are pretty useless and meaningless.
I apologise if this is not what you wanted to hear, but you deserve an honest answer to your question – and now have one!

1. Well, unless you have a narrator explaining thoughts, all the audience can work out about a person is the dialogue, the way they speak and what they say.
2. Because we can see the characters’ reactions in front of us. In a book you only imagine what the reactions are but when you watch a play or film, you see teh characters in front of you.
3. Otherwise it would be a boring play and it wouldn’t go anywhere. if a character has two sides the other can be revealed later on in the play.
Characters are very important in plays, more so than in books. In a book you can grab someone’s attention with a flashy accident or exotic location but with a play you are limited to what you can do, therefore you should focus on the characters.

its been 3 weeks after i had a interview in capital hill, and since then i didnt get any calls or mails from them. how long it usually takes for an answer like this? 3 weeks, is that good or bad??

well when my mom got accepted she got notified within 3 week wheras when my aunt got accepted it took 4 weeks and my other aunt got notified after 5 weeks that she did not make it so it really depend how many people come to the interview and how many r gonna get d job gud luk!
