The First Annual Rock & Pop Best Song Competition (2009 Edition).
Part twenty-one of the first round. More to come, and you don’t have to have voted in previous parts to get started here.
My personal life is in shambles, but this continues to soldier on (a few weeks late…. I’ll try to be better about this, but until things are stable… keep a keen eye out for more. Also, I’ll try to be better about answering your questions…. it’s been weeks if not months).

MATCH-UP 1
Paper Moon by Our Lady Peace

“hipsters trapped in their own irony….. what? no… no clue what it means, but it sounds clever, right guys?”
VERSUS
Convinced of the Hex by Flaming Lips

VERSUS
Playing with Dolls by Slayer

pants off dance off!

You, the community here at Yahoo! Answers, nominated 350+ songs, your favorites of the year, to face-off in head-to-head battles, tournament style, to determine the best songs of this calendar year.

I ask that you listen to all of the songs… don’t vote on name alone. Listen to them, weigh them, and then choose with reason, which song is the better of the two in the given match ups.
Star it, and try to get as many voters to this thing as you can.
All comments are meant to be in good humor.

If you have any trouble with any links, or any of them are broken — let me know, and I’ll fix them ASAP. Thanks.

So, THE QUESTION: which songs do you subjectively prefer of each these match ups (even if it’s only the lesser of two evils in your eyes)?
Hey, Dookie…. I had that song in a previous part months ago…. but thanks for playing.

How long do you have after you get a job offer to decide?

Question by steama1973: How long do you have after you get a job offer to decide?
Is there a ‘norm’ that companies go by? I’ve gone on a few entry level interviews and should be expecting phone calls soon. Thanks

If you want the job, you should accept immediately. There is no reason to wait. If I’m offering a job to someone and they don’t accept within 48 hours, I move on to the next candidate and withdraw my offer to the first. I figure if they had to THINK about working for me, why should I even bother with them?

What do you think? Answer below!

Job interviews, job offers…how long do I have to decide to take a position?

Question by I Got What U Need: Job interviews, job offers…how long do I have to decide to take a position?
I have had 2 interviews already and have 2 more to go. I need a job right now. Because I am in need of a position fast I am tempted to take the first job offer, whichever it may be. I feel very confident I have a good chance of getting one of the positions I have interviewed for but one of the upcoming would be good too. The last of the 4 is low paying. I really don’t want to accept the low paying position because I am desperate for something now and a few days later get a call from one of the others offering a job. What is a appropriate amount of time to leave before accepting. I don’t want to wait too long hoping on the others to call…..
Should also not, the job I said I feel like I have a good chance at getting is a file clerk position. During the interview she mentioned that they will be going to electronic filing over the next couple of years – which could over time eliminate the position.

Usually you have around a week to accept an offer. When you get one, they will let you know how long you have to respond.
