How do you answer during an interview about your greatest weakness?

Question by zephanblaxberg: How do you answer during an interview about your greatest weakness?
I’m in no way perfect but I think that when it comes time in a job interview for them to ask you what your biggest downfall or weakness is, I’m just completely clueless. I don’t want to say anything that would downplay my abilities otherwise I may not get the job but I don’t want something too bland otherwise they’ll think I’m narcissistic. How would you answer?

The best answer for this is to use something that can be seen as negative but will positively benefit the company.

For example: Your greatest weakness could be that you’re a workaholic.

Bad for you.
Good for the company.

Answer to “Greatest weakness” question during interview.?

Question by daythatidie99: Answer to “Greatest weakness” question during interview.?
I have an interview at McDonalds tomorrow. Well, my biggest weakness is that when I first start out at a job it takes me a while to pick up on things, but after a few hours or days I get the hang of it and then perfect it. How do I say this and sound professional?
Also, how do I answer the question “Why do you want to work here” the only reason I really applied was because I need a job and I feel bad because my parents are paying for everything

Say that you like to take your time when learning new things so that you can be positive you are doing everything right. Kinda make it sound like you are thorough in what you do and sometimes that can hinder your progress in the beginning.

Job interview question. “What would you say is your greatest weakness?”?

Question by Carson: Job interview question. “What would you say is your greatest weakness?”?
I am currently interviewing for jobs, and the last four companies I interviewed with asked me what I thought my greatest weakness was.

I try not to think too much about the interview before I go in. Of course I do some preliminary research on the company and familiarize myself with what they do, but I don’t want the interview to come across as scripted, so basically I try to “wing-it” for the lack of a better term. I feel that taking this approach allows me to be much more candid and honest with my prospective employer.

However, whenever I am asked “What is your greatest weakness” I choke up and don’t know what to say.I don’t want to give some superficial answer like “Well, I would say I probably work too hard” or some stupid answer like that. What is a good way to handle this question without shooting myself in the foot? If an interviewer has ever asked YOU this question, what was your response?

Thank you very much for your answers. I appreciate it.

Be honest about your weakness but spin it into a positive. That is all anyone can tell you without knowing what your weaknesses are

An answer to “what is your greatest weakness”?

Question by : An answer to “what is your greatest weakness”?
I have a job interview at Aeropostale in two days, and I’m the kind of person that obsesses over things… so I’m looking up interview questions. For “What is your greatest weakness”, should I say that I tend to care too much about what people think of me, or would obsessing over things be one? Honestly I’m really shy at first but they aren’t going to want to hear that.

I like to say that my greatest weakness is that my strengths tend to be a little to strong so I have to remember to be careful to not be overbearing.
