I have a group interview with Aeropostale tommorow and have no idea what to expect. ANYONE WHO HAS EVER HAD A INTERVIEW WITH AEROPOSTALE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I CAN EXPECT AND HOW I CAN PREPARE SO I CAN GET THE JOB!

perhaps someone that works or has worked at abercrombie can help me out with this question. or someone who knows about job orientations.im really nervous this will be my first job and i have no clue what to expect. see, i’m scared at orientation they will perform a background check on me and i will not get the job. I got arrested before and charged of petty theft its not a felony its just a misdemeanor which i already went to court and paid my fines but it will take a year to get off my records. my question is do you think they will perform a background check at orientation?
i applied at aeropostale before i applied at abercrombie and they did a background check at the group interview that is why i didnt get a call back maybe abercrombie wont perform one at all or perhaps they will at orientation? i need H E L P!

Question by Alchemist: I have a job offer I don’t really want and another group is asking me to wait until they can make an offer
I am in education and work on a contractual basis. My current contract has ended and they don’t intend to fund the position next year.
Meanwhile, I have an offer to work with a much younger group of students than I am used to working with and don’t necessarily want to work with them. Another district is interested, but is not ready to make any offers yet. Their superintendant asked me to wait for them, but at this point, any contract is better than none at all.
The newer district will be offering a contract for the age group I am more able to work with, but I may have to make a decision on the contract I HAVE been offered before the one I WANT is out there. How can I stall the first district long enough to see the other guys’ offer without losing the offer I already have? I’ve already asked the “good guys” to hurry up, but they are swamped with end of year business.
Any decision I make could affect me for years to come. Any serious suggestions would be appreciated.
I live in Texas and the board is meeting on the first offer tonight. I’ll have to sign the contract this week and get it back to them. Theoretically, you have until 45 days before the first day of instruction to quit, but I’ve heard of districts refusing to accept resignations.

Question by kylee: group interview at aeropostale? what should i expect?
i walked in earlier and asked for an application, then about a half an hour later i returned it and had a conversation with the manager, kind of like an interview conversation about my job history (preschool teaching) and why i want to work with them. he complimented me on my outfit and my outgoingness and asked me if i could be there at 3 today for a group interview. sounds like a good sign to me but i don’t know what to expect. any ideas? what should i say? or do?

try to be friendly and dont be in the background, be interactive and engaging. he is trying to see how well you are with others…so this would reflec how you are with customers or co-workers.

okay so yesterday i went in aeropostale with a friend helping her look for a job
so i asked the manager for her because she’s a bit shy
now the manager told us that were coming in today at 2:00 for a group interview
im scared!

At group interviews, there will be a bunch of other applicants, which can be a few to probably a dozen. The first thing I would suggest is not to wear something that is made or sold by a competitor, perhaps even something from Aéropostale. But still dress nicely, so no holes or rips in your clothes.
Researching the company and bringing up your knowledge during appropriate times will help you stand out.
Questions asked will be situational and customer service related. Be honest, show you have a strong work ethic, show that you can handle situations by describing examples of experience, and that you are willing to do just about anything to make a customer happy.
Retailers like Aéropostale need repeat sales/customers, so also focus on how you can make a buying experience a positive one so that customers will come back.
You also should think of questions to ask. They can be company or job related, but always be prepared to have questions to ask.

they would prolly ask you to sale them a product.
they would wanna see how you work as a sales person
and things like what makes you ideal for this job and how would you aproach a customer,how would you handle complains and problems
make sure you are on time. its very important
and make sure you are not shy or nervous.
