Question by wickerman 24: What’s the longest you’ve ever waited for a job offer after having a job interview?
I’ve waited 2 and a half weeks so far to hear back from them, i phoned them up and they said i was on hold, which means apparently that i have either got the job or am 2nd to someone who has. So, whats the longest anyone has waited before landing the job.
I just wanna compare is all.

Question by ashcorter: What’s your wait time between interview and call back or job offer?
I went on an interview on Friday, it’s now Tuesday. I’m honestly not expecting a call back, re not enough experience. However, upon wishful thinking, hoping they will give me a chance. What is the longest any of you have waited for a call back from a prospective employer. In my current position, I found out that day. Any past stories on job offers would be interesting too.
Yes, I did send a thank you note.
It’s a small opthalmic pharmaceutical company

It can be anywhere from that day to months later, it depends on the company. Hopefully you already sent a thank you note, I would call sometime later this week to check in if you haven’t heard anything.

Question by Enrique: How long does it take to get a job offer after a drug test?
I applied at a local Hastings for a job as a burista. 2 Days later he gave me a call and we set up a an interview, I think the interview went well and we discussed much like salaries and if I’d be taking off for the summer or spring break. 2 days after that he called me in for a drug test which I took almost immediately it’s been 4 days now and I haven’t heard anything back from them. It’s also important to note there’s no way I could’ve failed the drug test seeing as I haven’t touched anything in 5+years.
Just wondering if I should give them a call to check up on it, or just play it cool and wait.

Question by Oscar T: Does Job Corps Offer rent help while in training?
Hello, Everyone.
I am going through interviews with Job Corps In San Francisco, CA. I have lot’s questions to be answered before I start the training there, but I can’t ask anybody from Job Corps right now because they don’t know the answers. I guess only the person who will be interviewing me for a scholarship will be the one knows all the answers. One of the most important one is that If they offer rent help while in training. I definitely don’t want to live in the dorm with those ghetto kids. The room is very tiny and I have to share with two other ghettos. Plus I can’t live in the dorm anyway because I have a contract at this place for another nine months. So I was hoping, there might be someone who works or used to work at Job Corps. Not students. Thank you.

Job Corps is just like everyone else. They expect you to pay for your own rent.

I know the average wait is 1-2 weeks, and that I should follow up within that time frame, re: Google.
However, I’m curious about your personal experiences. I’ve received two job offers myself, and both arrived the same day as the interview, within 1-3 hours. Because of this personal experience, my fragile optimism for this particular job is dropping exponentially as time passes. And also, the interview ended with the dreaded “we’ll be in touch.”
Thanks!!
I sent a “thank you” e-mail two hours afterward, and it hasn’t yet been a week.
Question by luh-ove4me: Waiting on a job, but got another job offer?
Alright, I just interviewed for two jobs this week, one for A&F and another as a hostess for a restaurant. Both seem great, just A&F seems like a better fit, mostly for transportation reasons. I just received a voice mail that I got the job at the restaurant at 5pm. I just interviewed for A&F earlier today. I’d rather work at abercrombie, but if I don’t get the job, I obviously want to work at the restaurant. What should I do? I don’t want to lose the restaurant job by waiting too long for abercrombie to call or to say the wrong thing.
A few questions:
What should I tell the restaurant job while I’m waiting to hear back from A&F?
And how long should I wait for A&F to call me back?
Is there any key ways of telling you’re hired there (at Abercrombie)?
Many answers would be appreciated. This dilemma is stressing me out to the max so any words of wisdom would help.
Thank You!

I would go ahead and take the job at the restaurant for now. If A&F does call you to make a job offer all you have to do is tell them you need to give your current employer a notice (atleast 1 week). A&F should definately respect this because giving a notice is a quality most employers look for. If they do not then you probably wouldn’t want to work there anyways.
