Question by JL: What should I expect in a third interview?
I have a question about a job I’ve been interviewing…
The company is a market leader in financial industry specialized in software platform for professional traders and now expanding to North America. Head office in Toronto and the job is the main contact person in Vancouver office looking after traders and trouble shooting for them.
I’ve gone through 2 interview them. The first interview was a normal one…face to face interview w/ 2 company executives…ask about past experience, strength/weakness…. 2nd interview was all technical stuff over the internet…trouble shooting computer and software…etc
Now, I’m selected to go for 3rd interview, meeting VP of sales and Director of Sales from Toronto HQ. The interview is taking place in Vancouver at the Starbucks outside of the hotel they’re staying in Van. I don’t know what to expect in the 3rd interview… It seems to me that everything they can ask has been asked in the 2 previous interview
I’ve never gone on a 3rd interview before and never been to a interview in a casual environment – Starbucks.
Any comment or suggestions will be appreciated.

It sounds like you have passed all the tests and have come out on top. They are meeting you in Starbucks other than their room. It’s not that it is casual but they are traveling and that’s what there is. There is no reason you can’t talk business and drink a cup of coffee. I’d be prepared to be hired and discuss salary and perks. I’d be smiling.

Question by bob123: How long should I wait after interview before calling back?
I had 3 full length in person interviews on Friday. I really thought they all went pretty well, and I made a good impression. I sent my thank you emails but didnt hear anything in response. I called back on tuesday morning and HR said that they did not hear back from the interviewers yet but do plan to make decision within the next couple of days. She also said they are no longer interviewing anyone else..
It is now Wednesday night. Should I call tomorrow (thursday), this friday, or next week. I just need a definite answer as soon as possible… as this affects major decisions in my life. Thanks for advice guys.

If you have already send some sort of follow up letter, then just patiently wait. it is good to maintain interest in the position, but you don’t want to be a pest. Interviewers can take harmless behavior and turn it into something ugly, so just be careful. AND GOOD LUCK!

Question by coffeefan02: How long should I wait for job asnwer? Frustrated with long delay?
Hi. I’m a graphic designer and I’ve gone through several interviews but however, I am not getting full-time offers instead just freelancing opportunities. There was this one company I had really wanted to work for (went through three higher ups) and was offered freelance opportunity immediately after the interview even though the job was for “full-time”.
I did the freelance because the money was good and I thought it would be a good opportunity to show them that I can do the work. However, I’ve several freelance periods and multiple answers that they are still interviewing or making decisions by end of december, I still haven’t heart anything from them.
I’ve inquired them about the position few times now, because I know I had to be proactive as well. I really like this company but I can’t keep playing this waiting game. In addition, some other companies tell me, “they’ll let me know in about a week” but I got no response either.
I don’t want to sound desperate but it’s frustrating.

It’s usually a week unless their are some complicated employment contract issues.
Or more than likely they want to offer you less money than what you asked for, for full time.

Question by Jamie J: If I were asked to introduce myself in a job interview, how long should it last?
I’m attending a final round interview next Monday. But I’m still uncertain about how much time should I spend if I were asked the question “Tell me something about yourself.” I was planning to talk about my academic background, my strength, my interest in the position they offer, my part time job experiences, etc. Will that be too much? How should I trim my answer to finish this question within one minute? Is that a rule for questions like this?
And how long should the answer to each question last?
Thank you very much for your attention, please help me.

tell them your education where you went “I have a bachelors degree in ——” tell them your common interests- nothing weird tho.
and try to involve your personal strengths and goals into the job position you’re trying to get…
don’t go off on a life story tho.

I went in and asked for an application first, but they told me they only do online apps, thats why i did one.
