Police Officer interview-Whats your biggest weakness question….how does this sound?

Question by that chevy guy: Police Officer interview-Whats your biggest weakness question….how does this sound?
I have a police interview coming up and i am aware of some questions they may ask…mainly the “whats your biggest weakness” question. I do not want to give them a canned “im a perfectionist” or “a work-a-holic/overacheiver” answer, but something that is true but at the same time wont disqualify me. so how does this sound?

“My biggest weakness as a human being would have to be that sometimes when i become very busy and overwhelmed with work, i can get a little unorganized. I realize that organization is essential to police work and that even the smallest errors made due to disorganization can lead to major problems in this field.

Realizing this, before i entered the police academy and my last seasonal police job this past summer, i made some changes to my daily work habits. Firstly, i did not commit ANYTHING to memory, as i carried an daily planner with me and wrote anything down that i would need to know or get done at a later date. I also would file my work into my own personal folders, separating the work by whether it was finished or unfinished. I also saved and filed my work on my computer drive in the same format.

with these changes in my work habits, organization was never an issue during my time at the police academy and my summer job, . Therefore i feel a great progress in overcoming my weakness.
p.s. im not going to the interview and expecting to be word for word, i just want to see some peoples opinion on the angle im answering the question at. I know this is a question dreaded by many and i thought my thruthful yet progressive answer may work well. I just wanted some outside feedback .

By the way picador and ringtek, its not about being scripted or an automation, but in my experience police interviews are pretty intense and play alot of mind games. Therefore, its smart to come in prepared mentally and ready for any curveballs they may throw at you…..which is what im doing now.

and no way would i go into a police interview and say i dont know if im ready for the challenge. maybe that works in other professions, but in law enforcement, lives depend on you and they cant afford to hire someone who isnt sure of themself

Hi,

1) Click on “START”
2) Choose “Control Panel”
3) Click on “Add or Remove Programs”
4) Choose “Add or Remove Windows Components”
5) Select Accessories, and you will find everything

Now before doing this goto START > RUN
Type in this: sndrec32

See if that works, if it doesn’t do the steps I mentioned at first

Good Luck

How do these interview answers sound?

Question by k: How do these interview answers sound?
I have a job interview tomorrow at Payless Shoes. These are some of the answers I have come up with based on questions I found online.

How would you describe yourself?
I’m a very generous and friendly person. I’m pretty easy going and laid back. I love to meet new people and learn new things.

Tell me about yourself.
I’m currently finishing up my junior year of high school, though I take online classes. Before that, I attended (name of school) High School and was enrolled in Honor’s classes and was the assistant editor of the school newspaper.

Why did you leave your last job?
I was starting a new school at the time, and though it’s online, I still wanted to get a feel for the classes and workload before trying to juggle both at the same time.

What are your long range and short range goals and objectives?
A short goal range that I have is to graduate from high school with a high GPA, and begin cosmetology school the next fall. My long range goal is to become a cosmetologist and perhaps someday open my own salon.

How well do you work with people? Do you prefer working alone or in teams?
I work very well with people. I enjoy working on teams over working alone, but each has their pros and cons.

Why Payless?
I love helping people and making them happy. I feel that the environment here at Payless would be enjoyable to work in. And I love the product sold here!

Why should we hire you?
First of all, I feel that I would be an asset to this company because I am truly passionate about customer service. Essentially, it’s what I want to for the rest of my life, as a cosmetologist. I also have a great desire to learn new things. On top of that, I have a flexible schedule.

How would you handle a difficult customer?
I would remain polite and do all I can to help correct the situation and be sure that the customer leaves the store feeling satisfied.

What is your greatest strength?
I would have to say that my greatest strength is generosity. I put other people first and do all I can to make them happy.

What is your greatest weakness?
A weakness of mine is that I can be a little nervous when it comes to asking for help because I don’t want to annoying or disruptive. But working in my previous job, I have learned that it’s best to ask for help when you need it, because otherwise you won’t learn.

These are just a few questions. I know that these won’t neccesarily be asked, and that there will be more questions than this. What are some other questions that you think a retail store, like Payless, would ask?

And how do you think my answers sound?
Thanks for your time.

Those sound pretty good, just make sure you’re ready for a strange question – most of those were asked at my last job interview, but he also asked me some pretty obscure questions as well.
