Question by givergirl12: How would you answer the question “What are your strengths and weaknesses” for an internship interview?
I have an interview tomorrow and they always seem to ask this question and I never really know how to answer it. How would all of you answer it? Or how would you identify your weaknesses so that you CAN answer it?

Strengths are usually the easiest to answer.
Think of general abilities you have, especially things other people have told you about. For instance, that you are a good listener, you are creative, you work well under pressure, etc.
Then, for each strength, come up with a little story about a time where you demonstrated that strength. That makes it more credible when you say you have a strength.
The weaknesses are a bit trickier.
Ideally, they should be something that is only a weakness in certain situation, but not in others.
For instance, maybe you spend too much time getting every detail right; you are too much of a perfectionist. This can be a weakness if you need to get things done very quickly, and precision isn’t really needed. On the positive side, sometimes attention to detail is very important, so this “weakness” is also a strength.
Again, try to come up with specific examples, and be ready to tell a story about it.
Try not to be too obvious. If you say, “My biggest weakness is that I’m just awesome at everything”, you will sound insincere.
