Question by coffeefan02: How long should I wait for job asnwer? Frustrated with long delay?
Hi. I’m a graphic designer and I’ve gone through several interviews but however, I am not getting full-time offers instead just freelancing opportunities. There was this one company I had really wanted to work for (went through three higher ups) and was offered freelance opportunity immediately after the interview even though the job was for “full-time”.
I did the freelance because the money was good and I thought it would be a good opportunity to show them that I can do the work. However, I’ve several freelance periods and multiple answers that they are still interviewing or making decisions by end of december, I still haven’t heart anything from them.
I’ve inquired them about the position few times now, because I know I had to be proactive as well. I really like this company but I can’t keep playing this waiting game. In addition, some other companies tell me, “they’ll let me know in about a week” but I got no response either.
I don’t want to sound desperate but it’s frustrating.

It’s usually a week unless their are some complicated employment contract issues.
Or more than likely they want to offer you less money than what you asked for, for full time.

I went on an interview on Friday, it’s now Tuesday. I’m honestly not expecting a call back, re not enough experience. However, upon wishful thinking, hoping they will give me a chance. What is the longest any of you have waited for a call back from a prospective employer. In my current position, I found out that day. Any past stories on job offers would be interesting too.

It can be anywhere from that day to months later, it depends on the company. Hopefully you already sent a thank you note, I would call sometime later this week to check in if you haven’t heard anything.

I went in and asked for an application first, but they told me they only do online apps, thats why i did one.

I would call maybe toward the end of next week. I think as an employer that I would like to see that eagerness in an employee. It makes it seem like they care and that you are interested in working for their company. Don’t feel bad about it or over eager. This is great and you might find out an early answer! I would just say that you were touching base with them and hope that they didn’t mind your call to check on your status. Also say that you just wanted to let them know that you are still available and just wanted to let them know you were open and ready. Just sound calm, cool, and collective! LOL Good Luck!!

You don’t. They will call you if they are interested. You should apply to more than one job. The average ratio of getting a call back is 4 to 10! Meaning for every ten jobs you apply to, you will get call backs on 4 of them. It doesn’t hurt to follow up, but don’t be pushy or it will put them off.

I know that I have to wait a week until the splint comes off, and the doctor told me that I might even cry when the splint comes off because it’ll look so swollen and I won’t be satisfied.
So when, usually, does the swelling go down enough for me to look somewhat normal? I know that it’s fully complete in 6 months, but that’s not what I’m asking.
