I want to be a police officer but I can’t answer the interview questions. Help?

Question by Alex: I want to be a police officer but I can’t answer the interview questions. Help?
For example, the question, ‘Why do you want to become a police officer?’ My honest answer would be, “I don’t know. I just do.” And it’s true. I really don’t know why I want to be a police officer, it’s just something I’ve always wanted to do.

And all of the other sample interview questions I’ve read, I just can’t answer any of them. What are some other careers I can pursue with a degree in criminal justice?

That may not be the career for you but be honest when answering them that will be the best thing you can to. You have a great major because it is so broad and you can do so much with it. The possibilities are endless.

I have a job I really want and have interviewed for it. How long should I wait for an answer?

Question by Roland E: I have a job I really want and have interviewed for it. How long should I wait for an answer?
I have another offer that’s good and already in hand.

How long did she say it would be before she got back to you. A couple days at the most. I would keep looking and I would take the other offer. You can always leave if you get the other job. It is easier to get a job/better job if you already have a job.

In an interview what the interviewer asks “tell me about yourself” what do they really want to know?

Question by I <3 my boys: In an interview what the interviewer asks “tell me about yourself” what do they really want to know?
Do they want to know your strengths, your personal life, your goals? Should the answer be brief?

Best answer:

Answer by Bev B
They don’t want your life history or personal details (many of which they can’t ask about legally, but you might be tempted to offer them inadvertently when describing yourself). What they want is a concise description of who you think you are and what your best traits are. Hopefully, those traits (honest, hard working, problem solver, team player) fit the company’s culture or the type of position you’re applying for.

I want to get a Yorkie but..?

Question by Savannah Says ĐŻawrr!: I want to get a Yorkie but..?
..I have a few problems…
I still go to school, departing at about 7:10 am and getting home at around 4pm. Thats aroud 7 hours leaving the puppy alone!! And there’s no way I could get home at lunchtime.
Is this a reason why I should change my mind? Also would crate traning it be better?
My sister leaves at 7:10 too but comes home around 3..
I really want a Yorkie!! My mom doesn’t want a dog because she’s scared it will scratch our hardwood floors and chew on shoes, furniture etc.
I know dogs are alot of work to train but I was thinking of adopting one, also because the price is a bit of an issue. It’s not that we don’t have the money to support a dog, we sure do, but I feel bad buying a really expensive dogs and making my parents pay!
Also, what are the basic things I would need to buy for a Yorkie?
And do you think I would be able to take care of it? Im 13 years old..
And if I try this with my new puppy, would it be as lonley? (The best answer)

(PS: Im thinking about getting it in the summer so I can try that technique, and also bond with it more, and this is my 1st possible puppy)

Sorry for so many questions, I just need to know the answers before i get one!

You could try doggy day care. I send my bulldog to one and he plays with friends, get training, and gets loved on all day. For a list of puppy things you can go to www.petsmart.com The real basics are: a crate, bed, food and water bowls, toys, food, leash and collar, etc.

Answer by PeahiWahine
Everyone has a fear of public speaking. Everyone. I’d work on it with a therapist for a few months. Don’t give up on your dream.

Speeches are a part of life. You may give this up only to land a job where at some point you must address a boardroom full of executives or else lose your job. Please try to work on this fear. Don’t quit so easily.
